Create an intention. Then create thoughts around that intention. For example if your intention is to be happy. When the mind tries to distract you with the nonsense that has nothing to do with your happiness, you counteract it by entertaining and creating thoughts that are only aligned with your intention. The key is self awareness and consistency. Like anything it’s harder at first but eventually the mind becomes silenced by the power of your intent.
